For OS X Yosemite users, follow the steps to open Avidemux 2.6.10 (tested on OS X 10.10.3)
1. Open .DMG file and copy Avidemux to 'Applications' Folder.
2. If this appears,
just open it.

For OS X Yosemite users, follow the steps to open Avidemux 2.5.4 (tested on OS X 10.10.3)
1. Right click at Avidemux icon, select 'Show Package Contents'
2. Open folder 'Contents' --> Open folder 'Resources' --> Open folder 'lib'
3. Delete 2 files: 'libiconv.2.dylib' and 'libxml2.2.dylib'

Follow the steps to open Avidemux 2.5.3 (tested on Mac OS X 10.7.1)
1. Right click at Avidemux icon, select 'Show Package Contents'
2. Open folder 'Contents' --> Open folder 'Resources' --> Open folder 'lib'
3. Delete 2 files: 'libiconv.2.dylib' and 'libxml2.2.dylib'
